English tutor in Dubai, online and 1-on-1

Most requests for an English tutor in Dubai are one of four things: a young child whose reading is behind the class, a child who speaks fluently but writes poorly, exam English (CBSE Class 10 and 12, IGCSE, IB) where marks are lost to structure and not to vocabulary, and a child who has just arrived in an English-medium school from a Hindi, Malayalam or Arabic-medium one. Each needs a different class, and the first thing we do is find out which one yours is.

Our English tutors hold master's degrees in English and teach 1-on-1 on a shared screen: the child reads aloud every class, writes something short every class, and gets it marked line by line before the next one. For exam years the class works from the board's own past papers and mark schemes. Parents get the recording and a note after every class.

how a class runs

πŸ“– Every class, three things

  • The child reads aloud: the tutor hears every word
  • The child writes something short: marked before the next class
  • One skill taught properly: a sound, a tense, a paragraph, a question type
  • For exam years: a past-paper question under time
  • After class: the recording and a note to the parent

Knowledge base

Dubai families ask

1How much does an English tutor cost in Dubai?
Home tutors in Dubai typically charge AED 100 to 250 an hour and language centres AED 60 to 150 for group classes. Our online 1-on-1 English classes are about AED 37 to 48 an hour, with the recording and marked writing included and no package.
2Do you teach English to children who do not speak it at home?
Yes, and it is one of the four kinds of class we run. We start with everyday speaking, then the English the child needs to follow maths and science lessons, with Hindi or Punjabi used where it helps and dropped as the child's English grows. Reading and writing come alongside, not after.
3Can you help with CBSE Class 10 or IGCSE English?
Yes. Exam English is mostly structure: the question types, the mark scheme, timed writing and unseen passages. We work from the board's own past papers from the start of the exam year, and the writing is marked to the published scheme.
4My child reads well but writes badly. Is that normal?
Very common, and the gap is usually a missing routine, not ability. A child who writes something short every class and gets it marked line by line improves within a term. We also teach the mechanics most schools assume: paragraphs, tenses, punctuation and how to plan before writing.
5What time are classes for families in Dubai?
The UAE is 1.5 hours behind India all year, so 4 to 7 pm in Dubai is 5:30 to 8:30 pm in Chandigarh: ordinary working hours for our tutors, with weekend mornings (Friday and Saturday in the UAE) as Indian late mornings. No midnight shifts, no tired tutor.
6How much does it cost?
About AED 37 to 48 an hour (US$10 to $13), for a live 1-on-1 class with a master's-qualified tutor, the recording of every class, notes and marked homework included, billed monthly with no package and no contract. Dubai tuition centres publish AED 60 to 150 an hour for CBSE subjects and home tutors AED 100 to 250; the full comparison is on the pricing page.
7Is the first class free?
Yes. A 30-minute 1-on-1 lesson on the whiteboard in maths or science, at your after-school time, in English, Hindi or Punjabi. Parents sit in. After it we send a short plan and the exact rate, and you decide. No card, no obligation.
8Do you follow the school's book or NCERT?
Both, in this order: the NCERT chapter the school is on, in the school's sequence, with the school's own worksheets and the CBSE sample-paper pattern from Class 9. Where the school runs ahead of NCERT (many Dubai schools do in maths), we follow the school.
