1Do you teach Italian?
No. We teach maths, science and English, in English, Hindi or Punjabi. For a child in an Italian school we follow the Italian class order and use the Italian terms (tabelline, espressioni, frazioni, proporzioni, equivalenze, equazioni) so classwork matches, and we translate the problemi so the language stops hiding the maths. For Italian itself we recommend a local tutor or the school's own L2 lab, and we say so.
2Which schools do your Italy students attend?
Both kinds: Italian scuole primarie and scuole medie in Lombardy, Lazio, Piedmont and Emilia, and international schools on the IB (PYP and MYP), British (Cambridge Primary, KS3, IGCSE) and American programmes in Milan, Rome, Turin and Bologna.
3What time are classes for families in Italy?
Weekday 4 pm to 7 pm in Italy is 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm in Chandigarh in winter and an hour earlier in summer, all normal teaching hours for us. Weekend mornings in Italy are early afternoon in India and are popular with younger children. The three-month summer break, from early June to mid September, is when most families add a second weekly class.
4Can you help with compiti and the compiti delle vacanze?
Yes, for maths, science and English. We do not do the homework for the child; we teach the topic behind it so the homework becomes quick, and over the summer we run a structured plan that covers the summer workbook and keeps the child a term ahead for September.
5Can you prepare my child for INVALSI and the esame di terza media?
For the maths, yes: the INVALSI matematica in classe 2, classe 5 and terza media, and the written maths paper of the esame di terza media, using the Italian question styles. The Italian and the oral need an Italian-speaking tutor. Preparation for the terza media should start in seconda media, because the consiglio orientativo in December of terza media is largely formed on seconda media results.
6How do you support IB MYP and IGCSE students?
We take the school's current unit and work it through all four MYP criteria, or the IGCSE syllabus and past papers, every week. Most MYP students who arrive on a 5 are losing levels on criteria B, C and D, and those are trainable habits.
7Is the first class really free, and what does it cost after that?
The 30-minute placement demo is free, with no card and no obligation. Regular classes are weekly, 1-on-1, and priced per hour well below Italian ripetizioni rates. We quote after the demo once we know the class, subject and frequency.
