CBSE Class 6 online tuition in Dubai, 1-on-1
Class 6 is the first year of middle school in a CBSE school in Dubai, and since 2024 it is also the first year of the new NCERT books: Ganita Prakash for maths and Curiosity for science. The chapters, the order and the style of question changed, which is why a Class 6 child who was comfortable in Class 5 can suddenly be lost, and why an older cousin's notes no longer help.
Our Class 6 classes follow the new books chapter by chapter, in the order the school takes them, one tutor with one child on a shared whiteboard: the recap, the new idea with diagrams, guided practice where the tutor watches every step, then notes, an assignment and the recording for the parent. The maths tutor holds a master's in mathematics and the science tutor a master's in her science; both have taught the new syllabus since it arrived.

The new maths book teaches through puzzles and patterns rather than drills; the chapters that decide Class 7 are Prime Time (factors, multiples, HCF and LCM), Fractions and The Other Side of Zero (negative numbers). In science, Measurement of Length and Motion and Materials Around Us are the ones the Class 7 book builds on.

1Which book does the Class 6 tuition follow?
The new NCERT books: Ganita Prakash (maths, 10 chapters) and Curiosity (science, 12 chapters), in the order your child's school takes them. If the school uses an older edition or a private publisher's book alongside NCERT, we teach from the school's book and check the NCERT chapter, because the exam questions come from NCERT.
2My child was fine in Class 5 and is struggling now. Is that normal?
Very common in the first term of Class 6, and usually not a maths problem. The new book asks for reasons and patterns rather than procedures, and a child who learned procedures in Class 5 has to change how they think. Four to six weeks of guided practice on the same chapters the school is doing fixes it for most children; we find out where in the free class.
3What time are classes for families in Dubai?
The UAE is 1.5 hours behind India all year, so 4 to 7 pm in Dubai is 5:30 to 8:30 pm in Chandigarh: ordinary working hours for our tutors, with weekend mornings (Friday and Saturday in the UAE) as Indian late mornings. No midnight shifts, no tired tutor.
4How much does it cost?
About AED 37 to 48 an hour (US$10 to $13), for a live 1-on-1 class with a master's-qualified tutor, the recording of every class, notes and marked homework included, billed monthly with no package and no contract. 5Is the first class free?
Yes. A 30-minute 1-on-1 lesson on the whiteboard in maths or science, at your after-school time, in English, Hindi or Punjabi. Parents sit in. After it we send a short plan and the exact rate, and you decide. No card, no obligation.
6Do you follow the school's book or NCERT?
Both, in this order: the NCERT chapter the school is on, in the school's sequence, with the school's own worksheets and the CBSE sample-paper pattern from Class 9. Where the school runs ahead of NCERT (many Dubai schools do in maths), we follow the school.
