Calculus is failed in a particular way: the student understands every lesson and loses the test. The reason is almost never calculus. It is the algebra and trigonometry inside every calculus problem, which have to be automatic because the attention is needed for the new idea, and which a lecture cannot fix because a lecture cannot see the student's working. An online calculus tutor who holds a master's in mathematics and reads every line the student writes can, and that is what this class is.
The first class is a diagnosis: a short readiness check and one marked test, with every lost mark sorted into calculus or algebra. Then the course runs a week ahead of the school or college, 1-on-1 on a shared whiteboard: the new idea as a picture before a rule, guided practice where the tutor watches every step, and for AP students released free-response questions scored to the College Board rubric from the first semester. Every class is recorded, with notes and an assignment, and an error log kept between classes.

| Course | What it covers | Where students fall | What the class does about it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Precalculus and AP Precalculus | Functions, trigonometry, exponentials and logarithms | Trigonometry; logarithms; fast algebra | The half of precalculus that calculus uses, made automatic |
| AP Calculus AB | Limits, derivatives, integrals, the fundamental theorem; Calculus 1 | The chain rule; related rates; justifying in words on the free response | Released FRQs from the first semester, scored to the rubric; calculator and no-calculator sections practised separately |
| AP Calculus BC | Everything in AB, plus series, parametric and polar, parts and partial fractions | The series unit; pace | Series started early and revisited monthly; the AB subscore secured first |
| Calculus 1 (college) | Limits, derivatives and applications, first integrals | The algebra; the volume of problems a week | Twenty problems a week read line by line; the error log sorted into calculus and algebra |
| Calculus 2 | Techniques of integration, applications, sequences and series | Choosing the technique; series tests | A decision procedure for integrals; the series tests as one table |
| Calculus 3 | Vectors, partial derivatives, multiple integrals | Picturing three dimensions; setting up the region | Sketches for every problem; the region drawn before the integral is written |
| IB, A-level and CBSE Class 12 calculus | The calculus units of IB Maths AA, A-level pure maths, NCERT chapters 5 to 8 | The exam board's own question style | The board's past papers and mark scheme from the start of the unit |
AP Calculus AB is roughly Calculus 1; BC is Calculus 1 and most of Calculus 2 in the same year. The tutor is the same across the sequence, so a student who starts with us in precalculus keeps the same tutor through AP Calculus and into college Calculus 2 and 3.
