1Do you teach Dutch?
No. We teach maths, science and English in English. For a child in a Dutch school we follow the Dutch groep order and use the Dutch terms (tafels, breuken, verhoudingstabel, redactiesommen) so classwork matches, and we translate word problems so the language stops hiding the maths. For Dutch language itself we recommend a local Dutch tutor and say so.
2Which schools do your Netherlands students attend?
Both kinds: Dutch basisscholen and brugklas in Amstelveen, Amsterdam, Almere, Utrecht and Eindhoven, and international schools on the IB (PYP and MYP) and British (Cambridge Primary, KS3, IGCSE) programmes, including Amity in Amstelveen and the international schools in Amsterdam, The Hague and Eindhoven.
3What time are classes for families in the Netherlands?
Weekday 4 pm to 7 pm in the Netherlands is 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm in Chandigarh in winter and an hour earlier in summer, all normal teaching hours for us. Weekend mornings in the Netherlands are early afternoon in India and are popular with younger children.
4Can you prepare my child for the doorstroomtoets?
For the rekenen (maths) part, yes, at both the 1F and 1S reference levels, using the Dutch question styles. The Dutch reading and language part needs a Dutch-speaking tutor. Preparation should start in groep 7, because the school advice is largely formed on groep 7 results.
5How do you support IB MYP students?
We take the school's current unit and work it through all four criteria: a criterion A content check, a criterion B investigation, and a criterion D real-life task, written up to criterion C standard. Most students who arrive on a 5 are losing levels on B, C and D, and those are trainable habits.
6Is the first class really free, and what does it cost after that?
The 30-minute placement demo is free, with no card and no obligation. Regular classes are weekly, 1-on-1, and priced per hour at a fraction of Dutch tutoring rates. We quote after the demo once we know the grade, subject and frequency.
