More than a hundred schools in the UAE teach the Indian curriculum, most of them CBSE, a few ICSE, and together they are the largest group of Indian schools outside India. Almost every family in them has looked for extra help at some point: for the Class 9 jump, for the Class 10 boards, for Class 11 physics, or because the child was ahead in India and is now average in a section of 40. This page is the straight answer to "online CBSE tuition in UAE": how the Indian-school year here differs from India, what a child in Class 6 to 12 typically needs, what tuition really costs in Dubai, why the time difference is an advantage, and the five questions to ask any tutor before paying.

The CBSE year in the UAE, and what is different from India

The Indian schools in the UAE are CBSE- or CISCE-affiliated and follow the April-to-March year, with the board exams for Class 10 and 12 sat in the Gulf centres on the same dates and with the same papers as in India, in February and March. The textbooks are NCERT (CBSE) or Selina and Frank (ICSE). The exam pattern from Class 9 is the board's sample-paper pattern, with competency-based questions carrying a growing share of the marks every year.

Three things are different, and they change how a tutoring plan is built:

  • The school week is Monday to Friday, with Friday a half day, since the UAE moved its weekend in 2022. The long weekend session is on Saturday or Sunday morning, as in India.
  • Dubai schools are inspected and rated by the KHDA, and Abu Dhabi's by ADEK; the inspection reports grade the school's teaching of maths, science and English, and the fee a school may charge is tied to its rating. A "Good" or "Very Good" Indian school moves fast; a child who falls behind in one is not slow, the class is.
  • Many Indian schools in Dubai run ahead of NCERT in maths, finishing the book by December and spending the last term on revision and the next year's start. A tutor who teaches "from the book" is a term behind such a school; the plan has to follow the school's own sequence.

What children in the UAE usually need, class by class

Class Where the school moves fast What we are asked to fix
6 to 7 Fractions, decimals, ratio, the first algebra; the first proper science Arithmetic that never became automatic; reading speed in long science answers
8 Linear equations, exponents, factorisation, mensuration Algebraic identities and the three-step word problem, which decide Class 9
9 Polynomials, coordinate geometry, proof; motion, force, gravitation, atoms and molecules The jump in style and length of answers; where the "topper till Class 8" call comes from
10 The board syllabus and the pre-boards from December Pace and exam technique; a term-ahead plan so the pre-boards are a rehearsal
11 and 12 Physics, chemistry and maths at a JEE and NEET pace Class 11 mechanics and organic chemistry; Class 12 calculus; the board-plus-entrance balance

We teach the NCERT or Selina chapter the school is on, in the school's order, with the school's own worksheets, and the board's sample-paper pattern from Class 9. Our Class 8 CBSE guide and the Dubai class pages go chapter by chapter.

What tuition really costs in Dubai, and why the online tutor from India is cheaper without being worse

What you are comparing Per hour
Tuition centres in Dubai and Sharjah, CBSE subjects, small groups AED 60 to 150
Home tutors and agencies AED 100 to 250, more for Class 11 and 12
Tutor marketplaces (TeacherOn, Superprof UAE listings) AED 50 to 150, quality unchecked
Indian online platforms, batch classes of 10 to 30 AED 15 to 30 per hour equivalent, one pace for everyone
Science with Shobha, 1-on-1, master's-qualified tutor US$10 to $13, about AED 37 to 48, recording, notes and marked homework included, billed monthly, no contract

The price difference is not a quality difference; it is a geography difference. A master's-qualified teacher in Chandigarh teaching the same NCERT chapter on the same whiteboard costs a third of a tutor who has to pay Dubai rent. The honest caveat is that the saving only holds if the tutor teaches your child's own school's sequence and board, which you can test in the free class by asking what the next chapter is.

The 1.5-hour advantage

The UAE is 1.5 hours behind India, with no daylight saving on either side. A 4 pm class in Dubai is 5:30 pm in Chandigarh, 6 pm is 7:30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday mornings in the UAE are Indian late mornings. Those are ordinary working hours for a tutor in India, which means the same tutor every week at the same time for the whole year. Families on American time cannot get that; families in the Gulf can.

Dubai Chandigarh Who takes it
4:00 to 5:00 pm 5:30 to 6:30 pm Classes 3 to 8, after the bus
5:00 to 7:00 pm 6:30 to 8:30 pm Classes 9 to 12
Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 1 pm 11:30 am to 2:30 pm Pre-board and board practice

Five questions to ask any online tutor before you pay

  1. Which chapter is my child's school on this week, and which comes next? A CBSE tutor knows; a "maths tutor" teaches from their own syllabus.
  2. Will I get the recording of every class? It is how you check a class you cannot sit in on. A tutor who refuses has a reason.
  3. Is it the same tutor every week? Platforms rotate tutors between batches; a child who is behind needs one adult who knows the gap.
  4. What happens in the first class? The right answer is a diagnosis and a plan that names the gap. The wrong answer is a sales call.
  5. Is there a package? Fifty-class packages paid up front are how families lose money when a tutor leaves. Monthly billing with no contract is the fair arrangement.

How we teach Indian families in the UAE

A team of 20+ women educators with master's degrees in their subjects, teaching online from Chandigarh since 2018, in English, Hindi or Punjabi. Sixty-minute 1-on-1 classes on a shared whiteboard: homework marked aloud, the new idea in the school's order, thirty minutes of the child working while the tutor watches every line, the school's own homework started together, and the recording, notes and marked work to the parent afterwards. Parents are welcome in every class; the tutor never contacts the child outside the class; the first class is free and nothing is paid up front. The emirate pages, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman, have the class times and the schools we see most.

Questions parents ask

1Is online tuition in the UAE for Indian students legal and allowed?
Yes. The UAE regulates tuition centres and, since 2023, licenses individual private tutors through a freelance permit, which is aimed at tutors working inside the country. A family in Dubai taking an online class from a tutor in India is simply buying a service from abroad, as with any online course, and thousands of Indian families in the UAE do it every day.
2What time are classes for a child in the UAE?
The UAE is 1.5 hours behind India all year. A 4 pm class in Dubai is 5:30 pm in Chandigarh and a 6 pm class is 7:30 pm: ordinary working hours for our tutors. Saturday and Sunday mornings in the UAE are Indian late mornings, which is where board-year children take their longer sessions.
3How much does CBSE tuition cost in Dubai?
Tuition centres in Dubai publish AED 60 to 150 an hour for CBSE subjects and home tutors AED 100 to 250, more for Class 11 and 12. Our rate is US$10 to $13 an hour, about AED 37 to 48, for a live 1-on-1 class with a master's-qualified tutor, recording and notes included, billed monthly with no contract.
4Do you teach ICSE as well as CBSE?
Yes. CBSE from NCERT in the school's order, with the sample-paper pattern from Class 9; ICSE with the Selina and Frank textbooks the UAE's ICSE schools use. Our tutors taught both boards in India before teaching online.
5Which emirates do you teach in?
Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman mainly, because that is where the Indian schools are, and families in Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah on the same timetable. Each emirate has its own page with class times and the schools we see most.
