"How much is Mathnasium?" is hard to answer from Mathnasium's own website, which says only that there is a flat enrollment fee and a monthly membership "much like a gym", and that pricing varies by programme and area. Each of the roughly 1,100 centres is a franchise that sets its own price. Most do not publish it, so the figures that circulate are parent reports and estimates. For this guide we went to the source: on 19 October 2026 we read the enrollment pages of a sample of 227 US centres (every fifth one listed on mathnasium.com), a handful of others that review sites had cited, and every centre listed outside the US. These are the prices centres publish themselves, the discounts they advertise, what it all comes to per session and per year, and what to ask for a quote.

How much is Mathnasium? The short answer

  • Standard plan: $449 to $529 a month for about two sessions a week (nine or ten a month).
  • Unlimited visits: $549 to $579 a month.
  • High school: about $30 a month more than the same plan for grades K to 8.
  • Young children: $260 a month for 30-minute sessions (kindergarten and first grade) at one centre.
  • Enrollment fee: $198 to $199, once, often discounted.
  • A school year: about $4,000 to $6,000 including the fee.

Few centres publish: in our sample of 227, three had a monthly price on the page; the rest ask you to book an assessment first. Review sites that collect parent quotes report a wider range, from about $250 a month in smaller towns to $500 and more in expensive metros, so the published plans (mostly California, Illinois and Minnesota) are toward the upper end.

Sources: each centre's enrollment page on mathnasium.com, read 19 October 2026. Centres change their prices and offers often; treat these as a guide and ask yours. Every centre lists the same inclusions: "a full month of membership, personalized instruction, all materials, ongoing progress checks, and flexible scheduling, in-center or online".

What moves the price, from the table: how often (twice a week to unlimited is about +$100), contract length (six months to twelve is about βˆ’$30 a month), and grade (high school about +$30).

The discounts centres advertise

The enrollment pages we read carried a lot of offers, which tells you the list price is often not the price paid:

Offer Where we saw it
First month for $99 Several Minnesota and Illinois centres
$100 off the enrollment fee, often with a free gift (back to school) Many centres in Georgia, Texas, New Jersey, New York, Indiana and elsewhere
Enrollment fee waived for returning families, or for online enrollment The Illinois and California centres in the table
$25 to $50 off a month for each additional sibling (some also waive the sibling's enrollment fee) Many centres
Save about $50 a month on a 6-month membership; "save over $260" on a first 7 months Arizona and California centres
$200 off a month for parents who are licensed K-12 teachers One centre
Free assessment ("value $79" to "$125") Many centres
Referral credit of $50 to $150 Many centres

If the price you are quoted has none of these, ask. The sibling discount and a reduced enrollment fee are the two that are most often available and least often offered first.

What it comes to per session and per year

Plan Sessions a month (used) Per session School year (10 months), before any enrollment fee
$449, up to 10 sessions 10 $45 $4,490
$449, twice a week about 8.7 about $52 $4,490
$499, 9 sessions (12-month contract) 9 about $55 $5,988 (the contract runs 12 months)
$549, unlimited, used 3 times a week about 13 about $42 $5,490
$260, K to 1st mini-sessions (30 minutes) about 8 about $33 for 30 minutes $2,600

Two things change the real cost. Unused sessions: sessions that are not used usually do not carry over to the next month, so a child who misses a week for illness or travel pays for it. Shared attention: a session is about an hour, and centre job postings ask instructors to manage three or four students at once, so each child gets a share of the instructor's time. At $45 to $55 a session, an hour of one adult's direct attention works out at roughly $135 to $220. That is the number to put next to a 1-on-1 tutor's hourly rate; our guide to what a math tutor costs per hour has those.

Contracts, cancellation and the small print

  • Contract length. Some centres sell month-to-month memberships; others sell six- and twelve-month contracts at a lower monthly rate. The Pleasanton and Mill Valley plans in the table are contracts.
  • Cancellation. Notice rules are set by each centre. Parents on review sites describe needing written notice by a date in the month to avoid another month's charge. Ask for the cancellation terms in writing.
  • The fee. The enrollment fee is usually non-refundable. If a centre offers a free assessment, you can do the assessment without paying the fee and decide afterwards.
  • Pausing. Ask whether you can pause for a long holiday or a family trip abroad without losing the place or paying the fee again.

Mathnasium@home: the same price, online

Mathnasium@home is live online sessions with Mathnasium instructors, booked through a local centre. The published centre plans include "flexible scheduling, in-center or online" in the same membership, and review sites report the same price for both. It saves the drive, not the fee.

Outside the US: Canada, the UK, the Gulf, Australia and Singapore

Mathnasium's site lists centres in Canada (111), the UK (48), Australia (19), the UAE (11), Saudi Arabia (6) and Singapore (2). None of these 197 had an online enrollment page with prices when we checked, so there is no published figure for "Mathnasium fees" in Dubai, London, Toronto or Sydney. The only number we found on a review site was one Ontario centre at about CA$379 a month. Expect the same structure (an assessment, an enrollment fee, a monthly membership for two or three visits a week) and ask for a quote in writing; then divide it by the sessions your child will really use.

For comparison, published 1-on-1 rates for maths in those countries are in our guides to tutor prices in London and in Sydney and Melbourne.

What to ask for a quote

  1. The monthly price for the plan your child would actually use (twice a week, or unlimited), and for high school if relevant.
  2. The enrollment fee, and whether a current offer, a sibling or online enrollment reduces it.
  3. Month to month, or a six- or twelve-month contract? The price of each.
  4. The cancellation notice, in writing.
  5. What happens to sessions you do not use, and whether you can pause.
  6. How many children an instructor works with at the times you would come.
  7. Whether Mathnasium@home is included in the same price.

Then work out the cost per session and per year with the table above. Our guide to whether Mathnasium is worth it covers what you get for it and which children it suits best, and Mathnasium vs Kumon vs RSM vs a 1-on-1 tutor puts the prices side by side.

The 1-on-1 comparison

For what a Mathnasium twice-a-week plan costs in a month ($449 to $529), a 1-on-1 online class with a master's-qualified teacher at Science with Shobha buys 35 to 50 hours, the whole hour on your child, at US$10 to $13 an hour; most families take 4 to 8 hours a month. We follow the school's own course and method, record every class, bill monthly and have no contract or enrollment fee. Families outside the US pay in their own currency (about Β£8 to Β£10 an hour in the UK, AED 37 to 48 in the UAE). The first class is free. A centre is still the better choice for a child who needs a place to go and other children around; the alternatives guide covers both kinds.

Questions parents ask

1How much does Mathnasium cost per month?
Each centre sets its own price and most do not publish it. The centres that published a price on their enrollment pages in October 2026 charged $449 to $529 a month for a standard plan (two sessions a week, or nine or ten a month), $549 to $579 for unlimited visits, $479 for high school twice a week, and $260 for 30-minute sessions for kindergarten and first grade. Parent reports collected by review sites run from about $250 a month in smaller towns to $500 and more in expensive cities.
2How much is the Mathnasium enrollment fee?
$198 or $199 at the centres that publish it, charged once when a child joins. It is often reduced or waived: many centres advertise $100 off enrollment in a back-to-school month, some waive it for returning families or for online enrollment, and one we saw charged $31 as a Halloween offer. Ask whether it applies before you pay it.
3How much does Mathnasium cost per hour or per session?
Divide the monthly price by the sessions you will actually use. At $449 for ten one-hour sessions it is about $45 a session; at $499 for nine it is about $55; at $449 for twice a week (about 8.7 sessions a month) it is about $52. Sessions last about an hour and the instructor works with three or four children, so the cost per hour of one adult's attention is several times that.
4Does Mathnasium online (Mathnasium@home) cost less?
Not usually. Mathnasium@home is booked through a local centre, and the published centre plans include "flexible scheduling, in-center or online" in the same membership. Review sites report the same price for both. It saves the drive, not the fee.
5How much does Mathnasium cost in Canada, the UK or Dubai?
None of the 197 Mathnasium centres outside the US had an online enrollment page with prices when we checked in October 2026, so there is no published figure; the only way is a quote from the centre. One Ontario centre was reported on a review site at about CA$379 a month. Expect a monthly membership of the same shape as in the US, and compare it per session.
