"Class 10 maths formula sheet pdf" is typed from November onward by students who want one sheet instead of fourteen chapters of notes, and by parents printing it for the study wall. This page has one that matches the 2026-27 CBSE syllabus exactly: every formula from the 14 NCERT chapters, in the book's order, with the topics the rationalised syllabus removed marked so no one wastes December on them. Then where the 80 marks come from, and how to use the sheet in the last 60 days, because a formula sheet read is worth nothing and a formula sheet written from memory is worth a grade.
The sheet
Download the Class 10 maths formula sheet (PDF, 2 pages). Print it, fold it into the maths notebook, and read the next section before using it.
What is on it, chapter by chapter
| Chapter | The formulas | The one that carries the marks |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Real Numbers | HCF × LCM = product of two numbers; fundamental theorem of arithmetic; the irrationality proof | The proof that √2, √3 or √5 is irrational, written in full |
| 2 Polynomials | Sum and product of zeros of a quadratic; forming a quadratic from its zeros; the cubic relations | Sum and product: α + β = -b/a, αβ = c/a |
| 3 Pair of Linear Equations | The three consistency conditions; substitution and elimination | The condition for no solution or infinitely many |
| 4 Quadratic Equations | The quadratic formula; the discriminant; sum and product of roots | The discriminant and what it says about the roots |
| 5 Arithmetic Progressions | nth term; sum of n terms in both forms; nth term from the end | Sn = n/2 [2a + (n - 1)d] |
| 6 Triangles | Basic proportionality theorem and its converse; the three similarity criteria | The BPT proof, written as the book writes it |
| 7 Coordinate Geometry | Distance; section formula; midpoint | Section formula in the ratio m:n |
| 8 Trigonometry | The six ratios; the three identities; the table of values for 0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90° | sin²θ + cos²θ = 1 and the two that follow from it |
| 9 Applications of Trigonometry | Angle of elevation and depression; the figure first | tan, when the height and the distance are involved |
| 10 Circles | Tangent perpendicular to radius; equal tangents from a point | The equal-tangents proof |
| 11 Areas Related to Circles | Arc length; sector area; segment area | Sector area = (θ/360) × πr² |
| 12 Surface Areas and Volumes | Cuboid, cube, cylinder, cone, sphere, hemisphere; combinations | The combined solid: add the exposed surfaces, add the volumes |
| 13 Statistics | Mean by three methods; median; mode; the empirical relation | Median = l + [(n/2 - cf)/f] × h |
| 14 Probability | P(E); P(not E); the standard sample spaces | Two dice, 36 outcomes; a pack of cards, 52 |
Removed from the syllabus and not on the sheet: Euclid's division lemma as a separate topic, cross-multiplication for linear pairs, the area of a triangle by coordinates, the theorem on areas of similar triangles, the frustum of a cone, and the cumulative frequency graph (ogive). If your coaching notes still have them, cross them out.
Where the 80 marks come from
| Unit | Marks | Chapters |
|---|---|---|
| Algebra | 20 | Polynomials, pair of linear equations, quadratics, APs |
| Geometry | 15 | Triangles, circles |
| Trigonometry | 12 | Introduction, applications |
| Statistics and probability | 11 | Statistics, probability |
| Mensuration | 10 | Areas related to circles, surface areas and volumes |
| Number systems | 6 | Real numbers |
| Coordinate geometry | 6 | Coordinate geometry |
Plus 20 marks of internal assessment (periodic tests, the notebook, the lab and project work). So the four algebra chapters are worth as much as geometry and trigonometry together, and a student short of time should revise in this order, not in the book's.
The 60-day plan for the sheet
The board is in February (the main sitting; from 2026 there is a second sitting in May for improvement). Sixty days before it, from mid-December:
- Week 1 to 2: write, do not read. Every second day, cover the sheet and write one unit's formulas from memory. The ones you cannot write go on an index card that lives in your pocket.
- Week 3 to 5: use them in papers. One CBSE sample paper or previous year's paper a week, timed, marked to the marking scheme with the step marks written on the script. The marking scheme gives a mark for the formula stated and a mark for the substitution even when the arithmetic fails; that is why writing the formula first is worth doing.
- Week 6 to 7: the 5-mark questions only. The quadratic word problems, the AP word problems, the combined solids, the statistics tables, the trigonometry heights and distances. Ten of each.
- Week 8: the sheet from memory in one sitting, all fourteen chapters. Whatever is missing is what the last three days are for.
Standard or Basic
The formulas are the same for both papers. Standard (041) is the door to Class 11 maths; Basic (241) is for a student whose maths ends at Class 10, and it asks the same chapters with easier questions. The school files the choice with the candidate list, usually by October, so the decision is made in the first term, not in January. A student scoring under 50 per cent in the first term who does not need maths in Class 11 is better served by Basic and a good grade than by Standard and a poor one.
Where to get help
A 1-on-1 online class with a tutor who holds a master's in mathematics: the syllabus finished by December, then sample papers marked to the CBSE scheme with the step marks shown, for Standard or Basic, for students in India and for CBSE schools in Dubai and the Gulf at after-school times. The CBSE Class 9 and 10 maths page has the chapter list and the class times; the Class 10 in Dubai page has the UAE timetable. The free 30-minute first class is a real lesson on the chapter the school is on this week.
